Starting and Ending a Meeting

A meeting always has a start time. An end time is optional; a meeting without an end time is known as an ongoing meeting. Meeting start and end times are used in the following ways:
They are included in meeting invitations.
They are used to check license limits, which constrain the maximum number of meeting participants.
