Error and Diagnostic Messages

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

When a conference center cannot fulfill a request, a fault or diagnostic message is returned instead of a message reply. This can happen when the following errors occur:

  • A message request contains invalid syntax preventing it from being properly parsed.

  • A caller is not permitted to perform the specified operation. For example, a user in a member role cannot request to schedule a meeting.

  • A caller cannot be authenticated by the Live Meeting service because inappropriate user credentials were supplied.

  • The requested data set is too large.

The error message is returned in a Fault element. Warning and other informational messages are returned in the InfoWarn element. For more information, see Error and Status Messages.

For data transfer, InfoWarnFaultList is returned to indicate the status of the mass transfer message.
