Code Signing XML Expansion Packs [Office 2003 SDK Documentation]
Microsoft Office 2003 Smart Document Software Development Kit (SDK) includes an XML expansion pack manifest file signing tool called XMLSign.exe. You can use this tool to sign digitally XML expansion packs and Extensible Stylesheet Language Transform (XSLT) files that you include with your smart document solutions.
For more information about how to use the XML expansion pack manifest file signing tool, see Using the XMLSign Tool. For more information and resources about digital signatures, see Understanding Digital Signatures.
Note Office 2003 Service Pack (SP) 1 contains an updated version of the XMLSign Tool. This tool supports a set of command line options that is similar to those used by the File Signing Tool (Signcode.exe) utility, including support for timestamping of XML expansion pack manifests. This new feature allows you to create and deploy signed manifest files, such as those included on permanent media (CD, DVD, etc.), that do not become invalid when the original signing certificate expires.
