ButtonFace Element [Visio 2003 SDK Documentation]

When the ButtonFace element is contained in an Act element, it identifies the icon that appears next to an item on a shortcut menu.

When this element is contained in a SmartTagDef element, it contains the ID of the button face image that appears on the smart tag button.

Syntax

<ButtonFace>
    [Unit]
    [F]
    [Err]
    [V]>
</ButtonFace>

Attributes

Unit

Optional string. Represents a unit of measure. The default is STR. For details about STR, see Units of measure.

F

Optional string. Represents the element's formula. This attribute can contain one of the following strings: "someFormula" if the formula exists locally, "No Formula" if the formula is locally deleted or blocked, or "Inh" if the formula is inherited.

If the attribute is not present, the element's formula is a simple constant. For example, <element>5</element>.

Err

Optional string. Indicates that the formula evaluates to an error. The value of Err is the current value (an error message string); the value of the element is the last valid value.

V

Optional string. Represents the null string condition for a string cell value. In some cases, it is helpful to distinguish between an empty string cell null and a null string cell value. This attribute is used to distinguish between these forms of an empty value.

Remarks

The string contained in the ButtonFace element represents the ID of a Microsoft Office button face image.

For a shortcut menu icon, a value of zero (0) or no value means no icon appears. For a smart tag button image, a value of zero (0) or no value defaults to the standard smart tag "i" info button Button image.

The IDs that can be used in the ButtonFace element are the same as the IDs used with the FaceID property of a CommandBarButton object. For more details about these IDs, search for "working with command bar button images" on MSDN.

The ButtonFace element in an Act element is relevant only when contained in a Shape or StyleSheet element. It is ignored when contained in a DocumentSheet or PageSheet element.

The ButtonFace element in a SmartTagDef element is relevant only when it is contained in a Shape or PageSheet element. It is ignored when it is contained in a DocumentSheet or StyleSheet element.
