Creating a new rule
In the Business Rules workspace, you can create new business rules for a model.
To create a new rule
In the Workspace Browser pane, click Models.
Click the model that you want to open.
Select the Business Rules tab.
If you do not have the model checked out, in the Model Tasks pane, click Check Out.
Click to select a rule set for the new rule. To create a child rule set, first select the parent rule set.
Use one of the following steps.
On the Actions menu, click Create a New Rule.
Right-click the rule set, and then click Create a New Rule on the shortcut menu.
This displays the New Rule dialog box. The options that are available in the dialog box are determined by the rule set type to which the new rule belongs.
In the Name text box, type a name for the new rule. Then, in the Label text box, type a label for the new rule.

(Optional) In the Description field, type a description for the new rule.
If you want to copy an existing rule or use a template to create a rule, take the following steps:
Select the Use template or copy from existing rule check box.
Select a rule to copy from the Copy list, or
Select a rule template from the Template list. For more information about templates, see Predefined templates for general business rules.
Click OK.
Planning Business Modeler adds the new rule to the business rules table. The copied rule or the rule template appears in the Rule expression pane.
If you do not copy an existing rule or use a template, take the following steps:
In the Type list, select a type.
For more information, see Choose a rule type.
In the Implementation list, select a query type.
For more information, see About rule implementations.
Click OK.
Planning Business Modeler adds the new business rule to the business rules table.
