Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 introduces a new service that makes it easier to provision mobile devices for users. The Autodiscover service returns an XML file that is used to provision a user's device when the user's e-mail address and password are supplied. The Autodiscover service returns the address to a computer that is running Exchange 2007 that has the Client Access server role installed. By default, the Autodiscover service is enabled. This topic explains how to use the Exchange Management Console to enable the Autodiscover service in Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
Note
The ability to use the Autodiscover depends on the mobile device operating system that you are using. Not all mobile device operating systems that support synchronization with Exchange Server 2007 support Autodiscover. For more information about mobile device operating systems that support Autodiscover, contact the manufacturer of your mobile device.
