Applies to: Exchange Server 2007
An offline address book (OAB) distribution point is a virtual directory to which Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 users can connect to download the OAB. The OAB distribution points are hosted by servers running Internet Information Services (IIS) as virtual directories. Each distribution point can have two URLs associated with it—one for internal access and one for external access.
OAB Web distribution is supported only by Outlook 2007 clients. To support Outlook 2003 and earlier clients, set your OAB distribution point to download the OAB to a public folder.
The Offline Address Book Distribution tab in the work pane displays the following columns.
- Name
This column displays the name of the OAB virtual directory for the selected server.
- Internal Url
This column lists the internal URLs that are used by Outlook users to download OAB updates.
When you select an OAB virtual directory, the following action is available either by right-clicking the OAB virtual directory or by using the action pane.
- Properties
Click Properties to view and modify the settings for the selected OAB distribution point.
