Warning Message When Exchange Management Console in Exchange 2007 is Opened
Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 will reach end of support on April 11, 2017. To stay supported, you will need to upgrade. For more information, see Resources to help you upgrade your Office 2007 servers and clients.
This topic provides information about how to troubleshoot the warning message that appears when you open the Exchange Management Console. This warning occurs if you have Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and Exchange Server 2003 coexisting in the same organization. You could see the following errors:
"Warning: Object <Storage Group Name> has been corrupted and it is in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors have been encountered"
"Warning: Could not convert property LogFolderPath to type NonRootLocalLongFullPath. The path cannot be root directory. Parameter name: path"
"Warning: Exchange cannot store database (.edb) files in the root directory. Please select another location."
This issue occurs if Exchange 2003 has a storage group that has its logs on the root of a drive or if the Exchange 2003 database is located in the root of a drive, for example, E:\Priv1.edb.
Before You Begin
To perform this procedure, the account you use must be delegated membership in the local Administrators group. For more information about permissions, delegating roles, and the rights that are required to administer Exchange 2007, see Permission Considerations.
Resolution
To resolve the warning, move the Exchange 2003 log files or database files to a folder.
