Once you have completed your portfolio analysis by creating analyses and prioritizing projects, analyzing your portfolio based on high-level cost constraints, and analyzing your portfolio based on time-phased resource requirements, the last step is to commit your decision and communicate it to the stakeholders.

Note

This article describes a typical portfolio analysis scenario. Your organization may have customized this process to meet unique business needs.

  1. Make sure that your portfolio reflects exactly what you want to commit to.

Verify that you have selected all the proposals you want to include, and that you have not selected the proposals that you want to exclude.

  2. Click Commit.

  3. Review the message that appears, and then click OK to commit the portfolio.

  4. Communicate selection decisions with project owners and other portfolio stakeholders.

Use the data in the MSP_PROJECT_ANALYSES_RESULTS table in the reporting database to provide detailed decision support information. You can access this data through views in the Project Center, or by editing or viewing individual projects.
