Create a project from a SharePoint tasks list (Project Server 2010)

Microsoft Project Web App is closely integrated with SharePoint Server. In this version of Project Web App, you can create a new project by importing an existing SharePoint Server tasks list or project tasks list.

Import an existing SharePoint tasks list

  1. On the Quick Launch, in the Projects section, click Project Center.

  2. On the Projects tab of the ribbon, in the Project group, click the arrow under New, and then choose From SharePoint List.

  3. Enter the URL of an existing SharePoint list in the box, and then click Open List.

  4. Map the fields used in the list to the fields used by Project Server 2010, and then click Import.

Update SharePoint list data in your project

To update the project data with information from the SharePoint list, select the row that you are updating, and then, on the Projects tab of the ribbon, in the Project group, click Update List.
