View the import log

Before you perform this procedure, confirm that:
You have read the topic Import user profiles.
Your system is running either the Standard or Enterprise version of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.
Important
Administrators must have access to the Shared Services Provider (SSP) administration site, and must have the Manage User Profiles permission enabled to complete this procedure.
The import log is a view of the crawl log that filters the view to include only information about the two content sources used to crawl user profiles. The import log is used to troubleshoot issues that occur while importing user profiles.
The import log displays a complete list of log messages for the people content sources. This view can be filtered to display only messages that match one or more of the following criteria:
Time of arrival (either before or after a specific date and time)
Content source (All, PEOPLE_IMPORT, or PEOPLE_DL_IMPORT)
Status type (Success, Warning, or Error)
Status message
To view the import log
Use the following procedure to view the import log.
View the import log
On the Shared Services Administration Home page, in the User Profiles and My Sites section, click User profiles and properties.
On the User Profiles and Properties page, in the Profiles and Import Settings section, click View import log.
On the Crawl Log page, you can perform the following actions:
To filter based on time of message arrival, specify a date and time in the Show messages occurring later than menu and Show messages occurring earlier than text box, and then click the Filter button.
To filter by content source, click the content source to include in the Content Sources menu, and then click the Filter button.
To filter by status type, click the appropriate type on the Status Type menu, and then click the Filter button.
To filter by status message, click the status message in the Last Status Message menu, and then click the Filter button. The complete text of longer status messages can be viewed by clicking Show complete status message.
