Configuring Lookup Server Settings
Topic Last Modified: 2011-01-24
The following procedure describes how you can configure the Lookup Server settings of the Microsoft Lync Server 2010, Group Chat Configuration tool. The configurable settings are the log level and the pool communications port.
The Lookup service produces a troubleshooting log file located in the installation folder, under Logs. You can change the log level of the service dynamically without having to restart the service. For details about logging, see Configuring Log Levels for the Channel Service, Lookup Service, or Web Service.
You can also change the pool communications port. All servers in the Microsoft Lync Server 2010, Group Chat pool use the server pool to communicate with one another, sharing data and other information such as chat history and Lookup service settings. The server uses the pool communications port to connect to the server pool. The default setting for this port is 8010.
Note
Settings made in this view affect only the locally installed Lookup service. For details about changing system wide settings for all Lookup Servers, see Configuring Lookup Servers Settings.
