Create Internet Access Certificates

Internet Information Services (IIS) and Microsoft® Forefront™ Threat Management Gateway require server certificates to participate in Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) negotiation for client computers that are running SSL-enabled Internet browsers. Because of the certificate services that are running in Windows EBS, a private certificate is issued for this purpose.

Note

It is recommended that you obtain a public certificate in addition to the private certificate that is issued by Windows EBS. This prevents Web-browser security notifications regarding certificates for Internet or intranet sites that are hosted on your servers.
