ReplicationServer.DistributionServer Property

Gets or sets the name of the Distributor for the currently connected instance of SQL Server.

Property Value

A String value that specifies the instance of SQL Server that is the Distributor.

Exceptions

Exception type Condition
ArgumentException

When the string is null, is improperly formatted, or exceeds 128 bytes.

Remarks

The DistributionServer property is equivalent to the sp_get_distributor (Transact-SQL) stored procedure.

The DistributionServer property can be retrieved by the public fixed database role.

The DistributionServer property can be set only by the sysadmin fixed server role.

This property is available with SQL Server 7.0, SQL Server 2000, and SQL Server 2005.

This namespace, class, or member is supported only in version 2.0 of the .NET Framework.

Thread Safety

Any public static (Shared in Microsoft Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread safe.
