Identify the server and the appropriate set of server types and components to submit to an upgrade analysis. |

For upgrade analysis of certain server types, such as the SQL Server Database Engine, you must select a specific server instance for analysis. On this page, enter information to enable Upgrade Advisor to connect to the SQL Server database instance that you want to analyze. |

Set parameters to use for Database Engine analysis. You can determine which databases, trace files, or SQL batch files to analyze. This step is not included, and all related dialog elements are disabled, if you have not selected SQL Server analysis in SQL Server Components. |

Analysis Services Parameters |
To analyze Analysis Services, you must select a specific instance of Analysis Services. This step is not included. All related user interface elements will be disabled if you do not select Analysis Services analysis in SQL Server Components. |
To analyze Reporting Services, you must select a specific instance of Reporting Services. This step is not included, and all related user interface elements will be disabled if you do not select Reporting Services analysis in SQL Server Components. |

Integration Services Parameters |
To analyze Integration Services, there is an option to analyze Integration Services packages located on the computer or in the file system. This step is not included. All related user interface elements will be disabled if you do not select Integration Services analysis in SQL Server Components. |
To analyze Data Transformation Services (DTS), there is an option to analyze DTS packages that are located either on the server or in the file system. This step is not included. All related elements are disabled if you do not select DTS analysis in SQL Server Components. |
