LogSink Constructor (SinkType, TraceLevel, String)

[This topic is pre-release documentation and is subject to change in future releases. Blank topics are included as placeholders.]

Defines the type of log sink and assigns the specified TraceLevel. This overload also enables setting additional log sink parameters.

Namespace: System.Data.Caching
Assembly: CacheBaseLibrary (in cachebaselibrary.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public Sub New ( _
    sinkType As SinkType, _
    logLevel As TraceLevel, _
    sinkParam As String _
)
'Usage
Dim sinkType As SinkType
Dim logLevel As TraceLevel
Dim sinkParam As String

Dim instance As New LogSink(sinkType, logLevel, sinkParam)
public LogSink (
    SinkType sinkType,
    TraceLevel logLevel,
    string sinkParam
)
public:
LogSink (
    SinkType sinkType,
    TraceLevel logLevel,
    String^ sinkParam
)
public LogSink (
    SinkType sinkType,
    TraceLevel logLevel,
    String sinkParam
)
public function LogSink (
    sinkType : SinkType,
    logLevel : TraceLevel,
    sinkParam : String
)

Parameters

  • sinkType
    The type of log sink, represented by the SinkType enumeration.
  • logLevel
    The TraceLevel of the log sink, represented by the TraceLevel enumeration. Available options include: No tracing, Error, Warning, Information, and Verbose.
  • sinkParam
    Only used for file-based logging to specify the file naming convention of the log file.

Remarks

The LogSink class is used by the CreateLogSinks method to enable individual log sinks on the cache client programmatically.

The sinkParam parameter is not used with console-based and Event Tracing for Windows (ETW)-based log sinks. If a file-based sink is selected, the sinkParam parameter defines the file naming convention of the log file. For more information about the file naming convention and other log settings, see Log Sink Settings (Velocity) and How to: Set Log Sink Levels (Code) (Velocity).
