BackupDirectory Property

This feature will be removed in a future version of Microsoft SQL Server. Avoid using this feature in new development work, and plan to modify applications that currently use this feature.

The BackupDirectory property specifies the backup directory.

object.BackupDirectory [= value]

Remarks

Use the BackupDirectory property to specify a location other than the default directory location when running multiple instances of Microsoft SQL Server.

By default, the default instance of SQL Server stores backup files in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\Mssql\Backup directory. By default, a named instance of SQL Server stores backup files in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\Mssql$InstanceName\Backup directory, where InstanceName is the name of a nondefault instance of SQL Server.

Note   BackupDirectory can be used with Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 and later.
