Disk threshold exceeded
Published : April 8, 2005 | Updated : August 17, 2005
Summary
This alert is generated when the disk space used for the specified replica and shadow copies on the DPM server has exceeded the recommended threshold of 75 percent. To avoid compromising data protection, you should allocate more disk space for the replica and shadow copies in the storage pool. If you do not allocate more disk space, shadow copies may be deleted to make room for the replica.
Causes
Some possible causes for this alert include:
The size of the protected data on the source volume may have increased significantly since you created the protection group.
The data change rate may be high on the data source, causing the shadow copies to use more space than expected.
Resolutions
Allocate more disk space in the storage pool for the replica. For more information, see How to modify disk allocation. If there is no disk space available in the storage pool, you may need to add a physical disk drive to the DPM server and then add the disk to the storage pool.
