Introduction
Microsoft® Visio® Professional 2002 is a comprehensive tool for technical professionals. It includes all the solutions previously available in Visio 2000 Technical Edition, as well as those in Visio 2000 Standard Edition, and Visio 2000 Professional Edition. For IT professionals specifically, it enables you to create more robust IT diagrams and deploy Microsoft Visio products efficiently and cost-effectively.
Microsoft Visio Enterprise Network Tools, an add-on for Microsoft Visio Professional 2002, includes advanced tools (previously available in Visio 2000 Enterprise Edition) for diagramming your network infrastructure and directory structure.
New and Improved Features
The new and improved features and additional shapes in Microsoft Visio Professional 2002 enable the IT professional to create more robust, complete diagrams.
Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 shapes Define and communicate Microsoft® Exchange 2000 plans and configurations using the Exchange Objects stencil shapes in the Active Directory™ solution.
Improved Web site mapping Control Web site discovery and layout. The List window makes navigation easy by displaying Web site elements in a tree view.
Web site reports Generate a complete report of all the links in a Web site, including broken links. The reporting tool can even identify changes in a Web site since it was last diagrammed.
Save as Web page Publish Visio diagrams as Web pages with a property view that displays custom property data for shapes. Shapes can also display multiple hyperlinks for enhanced navigation capabilities.
Enhanced project scheduling Import dates and tasks from Microsoft® Project files into Gantt charts and timelines. Export information in a Visio timeline to create a Gantt chart, and vice versa. The Timeline solution is faster and has enhanced milestone behavior.
Enhanced database modeling Automatically reverse engineer a complete database using the Reverse Engineer Wizard, which eliminates the need to drag tables from the Tables window. Visio Professional 2002 can also reverse engineer Microsoft® SQL Server™ 2000 databases.
New and Improved Deployment Options
Support for Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Application Deployment features and the deployment tools included with the Microsoft® Office XP Resource Kit Toolbox enables the IT professional to deploy Microsoft Visio products efficiently and cost-effectively.
Windows Installer technology support Simplify desktop management and deployment of Visio products using Windows Installer technology. Use the Install on Demand feature to install additional Visio features even if you don't have local administrator privileges. Use the Detect and Repair feature to detect problems, fix corrupt files, or reinstall missing files themselves, thereby reducing support costs.
Custom Installation Wizard support Customize the Visio installation package, using the Custom Installation Wizard, for different department and deployment scenarios throughout your organization.
Systems Manager Server-based deployment support Simplify installation by creating deployment packages for specific user groups on your network or remote sites.
Improved Terminal Server support Multiple users can run a Visio product at the same time using Terminal Server.
Microsoft Visio 2002 also provides the Visio Resource Kit, a Web-based tool that guides network administrators through different deployment scenarios. Microsoft Visio 2002 has also increased the number of supported languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese, Dutch, Swedish, and Danish.

Novell Directory Services Diagramming Diagrams and documents Novell directory services.
Visio Enterprise Network Tools also includes subscription-based access to the Microsoft Visio Network Center Web site where you can find the latest Visio network diagramming solutions, an up-to-date library of manufacturer-specific network equipment shapes, and other information such as case studies, white papers, and sample diagrams.
