Canceling a Wipe Request

2/9/2009

The following procedure describes how to cancel a scheduled device wipe for a managed Windows Mobile device.

MDM tries to cancel a wipe request by removing the request from the database before it is sent to the managed device. By default, you can cancel a wipe request with a status of Pending or Retrying.

Note

You can use MDM Shell cmdlets and PowerShell scripts to automate Windows Mobile device management tasks. For more information on canceling a pending wipe request with an MDM Shell cmdlet, see Remove-WipeRequest.

To cancel a wipe request

  1. Open MDM Console. In the navigation pane, expand Device Management.

  2. Select Recent Wipes. A list of managed devices appears in the details pane.

  3. In the details pane, select the name of the managed device and verify that its wipe status is either Pending or Retrying.

  4. Right-click the name of the managed device and then select Cancel Wipe.

  5. In the confirmation dialog box, choose Yes to confirm that you want to cancel the scheduled device wipe.
