For information about installing an Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) server, see Checklist: Installing a federation server at Microsoft TechNet.
Note the following:
You must install the federation services component of AD FS. For more information, see Install the Federation Service component of ADFS at Microsoft TechNet.
Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) must be added to federation services as a Windows NT token-based application. For more information, see Add a new Windows NT token-based application to the Federation Service.
Note
When you add the Windows NT token-based application, make sure to enter a display name to identify the application and enter the application URL that you plan to use as the public host name of the portal, for example uag.treyresearch.net.
