"ROI.EXE has stopped working" error when printing a custom report in Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011

Symptoms

When you try to print a custom or customized report that uses Crystal Parameters in Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011, you receive one of the following errors:

Error Message 1:

ROI.EXE has stopped working

Error Message 2:

System Message 6201 - "Report execution failed. Error = 56029, Error Printing Report, Missing parameter values."

Cause

The report that uses Crystal Parameters isn't officially supported in Microsoft Dynamics SL.

Resolution

  • Resolution 1

    Select the Print Preview button instead of the Print button. Which could let the crystal parameters work in some cases.

  • Resolution 2

    Consider using the Options tab on ROI instead of Crystal Parameters.
