Transform image fills
After you fill a shape or path with an image fill, you can move, scale, rotate, or skew the fill independently of the path itself. You have two ways to do this: by using either the TransformFill tool or the Transform Fill pane.
Transform Fill tool
To transform a fill using the Transform Fill tool
Select one or more paths or shapes that contain an image or gradient fill.
In the Toolbox, select the Fill Transform tool .
To shift the image or pattern, drag inside the path. To scale, rotate, or skew the image or pattern, drag the resize and rotate handles as you would to transform an object or nodes.

Transform Fill pop-up window
The Transform Fill pop-up window is a more precise method of transforming an image fill.
To transform a fill using the Transform Fill pop-up window
Select one or more paths or shapes that contain an image or gradient fill.
On the Properties panel, in the Appearance category, click the Transform Fill icon .
In the Transform Fill pop-up window, adjust positioning (X and Y offsets), scaling (W and H), RotationAngle , and SkewAngle .
Resetting fill transformations
If you change your mind, you can reset any transformations applied to an image fill.
To reset a fill transformation
Select one or more paths or shapes that contain an image or gradient fill that you have transformed.
On the Properties panel, in the Appearance category, click the Transform Fill icon.
On the Transform Fill panel, click Reset.
