Microsoft Expression Web supports several different publishing scenarios. You can work on your own computer and then publish your changes to a remote production web server; you can work on a remote staging web server and publish your changes to a remote production server; or you can work directly on a remote production web server. In each scenario, you can choose what protocol you want to use to move files between computers.
To work on a local computer and publish to a remote production server
- Open the site on your computer directly and set your "remote" website to be the production server site.
To work on a remote staging server and publish to a remote production server
- Open the remote staging server site directly and set your "remote" website to be the production server site.
To work directly on a remote production server
- Open the remote website directly.
