Show, hide, move, or dock a toolbar
Microsoft Expression Web automatically customizes toolbars based on how often you use the toolbar buttons. If there isn't enough room to display all the buttons on a toolbar, the buttons that you have used most recently are displayed. When you use a button that is not displayed on the toolbar, that button is moved to the toolbar, and a button that has not been used recently is dropped to the Toolbar Options list.
To find a button on a toolbar
Click Toolbar Options at the end of the toolbar.
Note
If you can't find a toolbar button, you may need to enable editing for the language that the button applies to.
To show all the buttons on a toolbar
Use the move handle on the toolbar to drag the toolbar to its own row. You can also move the toolbar to a location other than the edge of the program window so that the toolbar becomes a floating toolbar.
Note
You can maximize your program window to show more toolbar buttons by clicking the Maximize button.
To show a toolbar
- Right-click any toolbar, and then select the toolbar you want to display.
To hide a toolbar
Do one of the following:
Right-click the toolbar, and then clear the check box to the left of the toolbar you want to hide.
If the toolbar is floating, click the Close button on the toolbar.
To move a toolbar
- Drag the move handle on a docked toolbar, or the title bar on a floating toolbar, to the new location.
To dock a toolbar
- Drag the title bar on a floating toolbar to the edge of the program window.
Note
When you dock a toolbar, this might affect the location and size of other toolbars on the same row.
To resize a toolbar
To resize a floating toolbar, move the pointer over any edge until it changes to a double-headed arrow, and then drag the edge of the toolbar.
To resize a docked toolbar that is on the same row as another toolbar, drag the move handle .
Note
You cannot resize a docked toolbar that is in its own row.
