Demonstrates

Most digitizer styluses used with Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 have an "eraser" on one end. While there is no eraser API in the Tablet PC Platform SDK, there is an easy way to detect whether the stylus is inverted. The recommended event for reading this value is the CursorInRange event.

This sample shows how to detect and respond to stylus erasing. It also demonstrates the two modes of ink deletion: stroke-based and point-based. In stroke-based deletion, the whole stroke over which the eraser passes is deleted. In point-based deletion, only the point directly under the eraser is erased.

This sample requires that the following be installed:

  • Visual Studio

  • Tablet PC Platform SDK

  • Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005
