How to: View Alerts

You can receive alerts about work item events that you need to track in your team project. For example, you might want to receive an alert whenever a work item that you opened is resolved. When you receive a work item alert in e-mail, it contains links that let you see additional details on the alert.

Note

You can create custom alert subscriptions by using Alert Editor, a power tool for Visual Studio. This tool is not supported. For more information, see the following page on the Microsoft Web site: Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Foundation Server Power Tools - October 2008 Release.

Required Permissions

To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Readers group or have the View work items in this node permission set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To view work item alerts from e-mail

  • In the e-mail message that contains the alert, click the links provided to see additional information.

    Note

To open links in an alert e-mail, you might need permissions to the team project.
