Integrated Help Shortcut Keys, Visual C# Scheme

The following shortcut key combinations can be used to view and move among topics in Help.

Note

When you select Visual C# Development Settings in the Import and Export Settings Wizard, the Visual C# 2005 keyboard mapping scheme is applied. Visual C# 2005 is the current keyboard mapping scheme. This is the keyboard mapping scheme that is applied to the integrated development environment (IDE) at initial startup. For more information, see How to: Change Select Settings.

To switch to the Visual C# keyboard mapping scheme

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

  2. Expand Environment, and then click Keyboard.

  3. Select Visual C# 2005 from the Apply the following application keyboard mapping scheme drop-down list.

Displays the Contents window for the documentation that is contained in MSDN.

Help.HelpFavorites

CTRL + F1, CTRL + F

Displays Help Favorites.

Help.HowDoI

CTRL + F1, CTRL + h

Displays How Do I page that corresponds to the selected user settings.

Help.Index

CTRL + F1, I

Displays the Index window for the documentation that is contained in MSDN.

Help.IndexResults

Ctrl + F1, Ctrl + T

Displays the Index Results window.

Help.NextTopic

ALT + DOWN ARROW

-or-

ALT + RIGHT ARROW

Displays the next topic in the table of contents. Available only in the Help (Web) browser window.

Help.PreviousTopic

ALT + UP ARROW

OR

ALT + LEFT ARROW

Displays the previous topic in the table of contents. Available only in the Help (Web) browser window.

Help.Search

CTRL + F1, CTRL + S

Displays the Visual Studio Help page with the Search tab active. This page enables you to search for words or phrases in the documentation that is contained in MSDN.

Help.Searchresults

CTRL + F1, CTRL + R

Displays the Visual Studio Help page with the Search tab and with the focus in the list of topics that the most recent search produced.

Help.WindowHelp

SHIFT + F1

Displays a topic from Help that corresponds to the current user interface.
