How to: Create Windows Forms Control Libraries

To create a Windows forms control library, use the Windows Forms Control Library template, which is available from the New Project dialog box.

Note

The appearance of features in the IDE can depend on your active settings or edition, and might differ from those described in Help. To change your settings, choose Import and Export Settings on the Tools menu. For more information, see Visual Studio Settings.

To create a Windows control library

  1. On the File menu, click New, and then click Project.

    The New Project dialog box appears.

  2. Under Installed Templates, click the Visual C++ node. In the Templates pane, click the Windows Forms Control Library icon.

  3. In the Name box, enter a unique name for your application.

    Note

    You can also specify other project and solution settings from the New Project dialog box, but these settings are not required.

  4. Click OK.
