The Best Practices Analyzer tool for Team Foundation Server verifies whether the Team Foundation Server Extensions for Windows SharePoint Services have been installed on the servers that host SharePoint Products. Extensions must be installed on all servers that host SharePoint Products for Team Foundation Server. This requirement applies to servers that host the SharePoint Central Administration site and project portals.
The tool logs the information that it gathers in the tree report under the URL for the root SharePoint site**.** You can locate this node by expanding Team Foundation Server Complete Health Check and then expanding SharePoint Web Applications.
The following error messages appear when the tool cannot determine whether the extensions are installed or if the tool determines that the extensions are not installed.
Cannot determine if Team Foundation Server Extensions for SharePoint Products is installed
Team Foundation Server Extensions for SharePoint Products is not installed
You must resolve these errors before you can provision team projects with a SharePoint site. These errors typically appear when the server that is running SharePoint Products is a remote portal (that is, SharePoint Products is not running on the same server as Team Foundation Server). If you have a remote portal, you must install Team Foundation Server Extensions for Windows SharePoint Services on it. If multiple servers are running SharePoint Products in a Web farm, you must install and configure these extensions on every server in that farm.
