Download the Latest Version of the Process Templates
To add features and functionality to a team project that has been upgraded to Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2012, you must download one of the process templates for Microsoft Solutions Framework 6.0 (MSF), or Visual Studio Scrum 2.0.
In general, you will download the process template that is the latest version of the template that was used to create your upgraded team project.
Note
You can download the latest version of the MSF or Scrum process templates only after your deployment has been updated to Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2012.
Required permissions
To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Project Collection Administrators or Team Foundation Administrators groups. If the necessary security permissions are set explicitly, your Manage process template permission for the team project collection must be set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.
To download the latest version of a process template
Open Visual Studio.
On the Team menu, choose Team Project Collection Settings, Process Template Manager.
The Process Template Manager lists each process template that has been uploaded to the team project collection.
Select the process template that you need, and then choose Download.
For example, if you are updating a team project based on the Agile process template, then select MSF for Agile Software Development 6.0 as the following illustration shows.

To get access to the latest versions of the default process templates, install the latest quarterly update for Team Foundation Server. Significant updates were made to the workflow for several work item types in the latest quarterly update. These changes support backward transitions so that when you inadvertently drag a work item on the Kanban board or the task board to a resolved or closed state, you can drag it back to an earlier workflow state.

In the Download Process Template dialog box, select a folder where the process template will be downloaded, and then choose Save.
The process template files are downloaded to the selected folder.
Note
If you are running Windows Vista, you might not have access to certain folders. If you try to download the process template to a location where you do not have access, the registry virtualization technology automatically redirects the process template and saves it to the virtual store. For more information, see the following pages on the Microsoft website: Registry Virtualization and Common file and registry virtualization issues in Windows Vista or in Windows 7. To avoid this redirection, you can download the process template to a location where you have access.
Choose Close to close the Process Template Manager.
After you download the process template, you can open the folder from the downloaded location to access the source files that are provided in the process template.
