Defining APE Profiles

   

Enterprise applications typically partition functionality into separate components that are distributed on the network in a variety of physical deployment configurations. Application Performance Explorer uses profiles to quickly model such architectural options and then measure the run-time performance under different network and deployment options.

The APE Manager interface contains five buttons that display dialog boxes for changing the various test configurations. These settings collectively become the "profile" of the scenario to be modeled.

The following sections explain some of the important profile options you can use to configure your APE test run.
