Embedded Licenses

Embedded licenses were created to improve various end-user scenarios such as streaming live TV or providing subscription services. For example, in a live TV scenario a leaf license is embedded in your media content. The user cannot play your Live TV content until they acquire a root license. Therefore the leaf license is chained to the root license and you need both the root and leaf licenses to play. A subscription scenario is another example where a leaf license is embedded in content and an expiring root license determines the length of the subscription.
