OBJECT

Describes a generic object. This element has the following definition.

Remarks

The OBJECT element consists of one required ID element and four optional elements - NAME, ADDRESS, DESCRIPTION, and VERSIONSPAN. The two attributes, type and version, can be used to identify the object type and version number.

OBJECT elements are used frequently in Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS) licenses and certificates.

Examples

The following example shows an OBJECT element that identifies a machine certificate by using a GUID.
