IWMReaderAdvanced::GetAllocateForOutput method (wmsdkidl.h)
[The feature associated with this page, Windows Media Format 11 SDK, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by Source Reader and Sink Writer. Source Reader and Sink Writer have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use Source Reader and Sink Writer instead of Windows Media Format 11 SDK, when possible. Microsoft suggests that existing code that uses the legacy APIs be rewritten to use the new APIs if possible.]
The GetAllocateForOutput method ascertains whether the reader is configured to use the IWMReaderCallbackAdvanced interface to allocate samples delivered by the IWMReaderCallback::OnSample callback.
Syntax
HRESULT GetAllocateForOutput(
[in] DWORD dwOutputNum,
[out] BOOL *pfAllocate
);
Parameters
[in] dwOutputNum
DWORD containing the identifying number of the output media stream.
[out] pfAllocate
Pointer to a Boolean value that is set to True if the reader uses IWMReaderCallbackAdvanced to allocate samples.
Return value
If the method succeeds, it returns S_OK. If it fails, it returns an HRESULT error code.
