Sending Messages to Multiple Destinations

Applies To: Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server Technical Preview, Windows Vista

Message Queuing 3.0 provides distribution list, multicast address, and multiple-element format name support as well as real-time multicast messaging based on IP multicast addresses for sending messages to multiple destinations. When applications send messages to distribution lists and multiple-element format names, Message Queuing attaches the applicable format name to the messages in the PROPID_M_DEST_FORMAT_NAME or MSMQMessage.Destination property, and a queue can be associated with a multicast address by setting the PROPID_Q_MULTICAST_ADDRESS or MSMQQueueInfo.MulticastAddress property. For more details, see Multiple-Destination Messaging.
