Jet 4.0 changed its page size from 2 KB to 4 KB. Databases now increase in size in 4-KB chunks in the new version 4.0 .mdb file format. This also allows the maximum size of a database to roughly double to 2 GB. The maximum size of a BLOB column has not increased, however. It is still limited to 1 GB.
