Integrating into the Extras Library

The Extras Library (Windows Media Center Start menu > Extras > Extras Library) is the single place where all Windows Media Center applications should appear by default, even if there are additional locations where the application will appear. The end user can choose to display items from the Extras Library on the Extras Start menu strip—the option is available on the context menu, which is opened by pressing the More Info button on the remote control, or right-clicking using the mouse.

Use the More Programs category to register an application in the Extras Library.

Note   Previous versions of Windows Media Center used Services\* and Settings\* categories. These categories are still considered valid in the registration XML, but will only result in a single tile in the Extras Library, regardless of how many categories you use. An application designed for Windows 7 should only use the More Programs category.
