Creating a Global Driver (Windows CE 5.0)
You can use the BSP Wizard to create a global driver.
To create a global driver
From the Platform menu, choose BSP Wizard.
In the Choose a Task dialog box, select Create global drivers and choose Next.
In the File name for .cec file field, enter a name for the .cec file that provides the information necessary to display your global driver in the Catalog:
In the Directory for .cec file field, enter the directory path where the .cec file will be created and choose Next.
In the Catalog name field, enter a name for your global driver that will be displayed in the Catalog.
(Optional) In the Vendor field, type your company's name.
(Optional) In the Description field, type a description for your global driver; then choose Next.
This value is shown in the Catalog when you move the pointer over the BSP name.
Configure the CPUs that your driver will support by doing one of the following:
- For your driver to support all CPUs, select Supports any CPU.
- For your driver to support specific CPUs only, select the CPUs from the list.
To customize your global driver, choose Next.
To customize the driver and complete the wizard
- In the Customization dialog box, customize your driver by doing one of the following:
To add a boot loader or standalone code, select Add bootloader or standalone code.

To add a driver, select Add driver.

- When you finish customizing your global driver, choose Next.
- In the Congratulations dialog box, choose the Finish button to complete the process and close the BSP Wizard.
You have created a global driver, which now appears in the Third Party\BSPs node in the Catalog.
Note If you had previously added the .cec file to the Catalog, remove it by using the Manage Catalog Features dialog box from the File menu. Then import the edited .cec file again.
