Determining Which Catalog Items Are Included in an OS Design (Windows CE 5.0)

After you create an OS design in Platform Builder, you can determine which Catalog items are included in your OS design.

Knowing approximately what functionality is included in your OS design helps you determine what modifications you can make in your design before building your run-time image.

For information about determining the exact functionality included in your run-time image, see Determining Which Sysgen Variables are Included in a Run-Time Image.

To determine which Catalog items are included in an OS design

  1. From the File menu, choose Open Workspace.

  2. Select the workspace (.pbxml) file that contains your OS design and then choose Open.

  3. If the Workspace window is not displayed, from the View menu, choose Workspace to display the window.

  4. In the Workspace window, choose the OSDesignView tab.

  5. View the Catalog items in your OS design by expanding the nodes in the Catalog item tree.

The Catalog items in your design are grouped by category, using the same structure as the Catalog. The items are also differentiated by different icons for each object type. For more information about icon object types, see Catalog Item Icon Types.

After you familiarize yourself with the Catalog items that your OS design contains, you can modify your design before building the run-time image. For more information, see Catalog Overview and How to Check the Dependencies of a Catalog Item.
