IUPnPDevice::SerialNumber (Windows CE 5.0)

This method returns a human-readable form of the serial number of the device.

HRESULT get_SerialNumber(BSTR* pbstr);

Parameters

  • pbstr
    [out] Receives a reference to a string that contains the serial number. This string must be released when it is no longer needed. If the device does not specify a serial number, this parameter receives an empty string.

Return Values

  • S_OK
    This method was successful.

Otherwise, the method returns one of the COM error codes defined in WinError.h.

Remarks

This property is optional and can return NULL.

It is possible for multiple devices to have the same serial number. To determine if two device objects describe the same device, use the unique device name. For more information, see IUPnPDevice::UniqueDeviceName.
