SmartCardRW.CapCardErrorDetection Property (POS for .NET v1.12 SDK Documentation)

2/27/2008

Indicates whether the smart card device can report a "torn" card.

Namespace: Microsoft.PointOfService
Assembly: Microsoft.PointOfService (in microsoft.pointofservice.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public MustOverride ReadOnly Property CapCardErrorDetection As Boolean
public abstract bool CapCardErrorDetection { get; }
public:
virtual property bool CapCardErrorDetection {
    bool get () abstract;
}
/** @property */
public abstract boolean get_CapCardErrorDetection ()
public abstract function get CapCardErrorDetection () : boolean

Remarks

If true, then the SCR/W has the ability to report that the smart card has been "torn" (removed before all transfers have been completed) from the device; otherwise, false.

An ErrorEvent is only fired (and DeviceErrorEventArgs.ErroCodeExtended set to ExtendedErrorTorn) if a "torn" error is detected and CapCardErrorDetection is true.

CapCardErrorDetection is set and updated by the service object, based on the capabilities of the device.
