The Web Folders component allows you to view, manage, move, copy, save, and rename files and folders you have stored on a Web server just as you would on your computer. The shortcuts are created automatically in My Network Places whenever you open a shared folder.
The Web server that hosts the document or folder you want to access must support the following protocols or services:
- Web Folders (WebDAV) protocol
- Internet Information Services (IIS) or the Web Extender Client (WEC) protocol
- FrontPage Server Extensions or SharePoint Team Services
You must also have read/write access to the Web server. If you are on a network, contact your network administrator for help accessing Web servers.
