The Internet Explorer 6 Help component provides online Help for Internet Explorer users.
The Help consists of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) Help topics and context-sensitive Help accessed through dialog boxes and property pages.
Services
This component includes Iexplore.chm, a compiled HTML Help file displayed in the HTMLHelp viewer and accessed from Contents and Index on the Help menu. It may also be accessed within the browser window by pressing the F1 key on the keyboard.
This component also includes Iexplore.hlp, a compiled Windows Help file, which is accessed through dialog boxes by any of the following methods:
- Right-clicking a control, and then choosing What's This
- Choosing the question mark (?) in the title bar
- Pressing F1 for information about the control that has the focus
The Help is displayed in a WinHelp popup window, using standard Window Help calls. There are additional Help files that provide information on product support, accessibility, ratings, and style sheets for the HTML Help.
The Help files require the HTML Help and WinHelp32 engines and their supporting files.
The files listed above do not constitute the complete list of Help files.

Settings
The Help files are fully compiled so there are no configurable settings.
