Viewing Component Properties

Component properties are defined when a component is authored. In Windows XP Embedded Target Designer, you can view a summary of the properties of any component in the database.

To view the properties of a component in Target Designer

  1. In Windows XP Embedded Target Designer, in the component browser, right-click the component and choose Properties.

A dialog box appears that shows the name, description, revision number, and visibility of the component, as well as the packages and categories to which it belongs. If more than one version of the component exists in the database, the properties of each version are shown on different tabs in the dialog box.

  2. To view the extended properties of the component, choose Advanced.

After a component is added to a configuration, its properties, including its compressed and uncompressed size, are displayed in the details pane when you select the component in the configuration editor.
