This topic discusses building an MSN Direct–enabled portable navigation device (PND) that can be certified by Microsoft.
Overview
Portable navigation device manufacturers can build products integrated with MSN Direct services and MSN Direct–branded radio-receiver products.
MSN Direct services for Windows Embedded CE integrates up-to-date MSN Direct data and services, such as weather, traffic, movie times and more, into the portable navigation device (PND) experience, and provides the development platform required to build a feature-rich navigation application.
Regardless of the platform that is used for building the MSN Direct–enabled navigation devices, the user interface (UI) of the navigation application requires you to display branding elements and source attribution for MSN Direct content. Microsoft provides branding guidelines and artwork to help you with implementing the branding and UI requirements. In addition, specific security and service-activation UI elements might also be required.
