This topic provides a summary description of the user-interface (UI) guidelines and logo requirements that you must follow when you design a UI for the MSN Direct application. These guidelines help promote safety while the application is used in a car environment.

The MSN Direct application should provide a UI that follows the MSN Direct UI guidelines. The MSN Direct UI can be integrated into an existing UI for a portable navigation device (PND).

Overview of UI Guidelines and Logo Requirements

MSN Direct applications should be developed according to the following principles that maximize user safety while driving and operating the host device:

  1. The application UI design minimizes the number of clicks required by the user to reach the content most frequently desired for each feature.
  2. The application UI design provides a visual arrangement of each content screen that highlights the most pertinent information while filtering out less important and potentially distracting information.
