Windows Embedded 8 Handheld (Handheld 8)


Windows Embedded 8 Handheld, based on the Windows Phone 8 core platform, is designed for use in small industrial Point of Service (POS) devices. The platform provides a new WinRT Point of Service programming interface for modern applications to access POS peripheral devices, such as a barcode scanner and magnetic stripe reader (MSR). The programming interface provides a vendor-neutral interface for developers to access POS devices from various manufacturers from their modern applications.
