SDK API Reference (Handheld 8.1)
7/17/2014
Windows Embedded 8.1 Handheld represents the next generation of Microsoft’s leading platform for industrial handheld and point of service (POS) devices. Built on top of the Windows Phone 8.1 core platform, Handheld 8.1 takes advantage of the full power of the Windows Phone API. In addition, Handheld 8.1 incorporates features of the WinRT API that are not supported in Windows Phone, providing a new programming interface for modern applications to access POS peripheral devices, such as barcode scanners and magnetic stripe readers (MSR).
This section contains API reference information for building applications with the Windows Embedded 8.1 Handheld SDK.
