Remote File Viewer (Compact 2013)

3/26/2014

You can use the Remote File Viewer tool in Windows Embedded Compact 2013 to perform similar types of tasks that you would perform by using Windows Explorer or File Explorer.

If your computer has Platform Builder installed, you can copy a file from that computer to a Windows Embedded Compact powered device by using Remote File Viewer. For example, you can create a file, export the file to the device, and then use the Target Control window to run a command on that file.

You can also use Remote File Viewer to perform the following tasks:

  • Import files from the device to the computer.
  • Display the properties of a file or a folder on a device.
  • Rename a file or a folder on the device.
  • Delete a file or folder on the device.
